Young Treva heads up Mount Baldy on spring day to visit her cousin. Unbeknownst to her, a pack of mountain trolls wants a dog, and have taken a keen interest in her Tuffi. One by one, they sneak out to grab the dog. Fortunately, these trolls are more greedy than clever. Treva keeps her head and is able to outsmart the trolls, rescue Tuffi each time and make her way safely down the mountain.
Trouble With Trolls is a fun, colorful story. Youngsters enjoy the antics of trolls and Treva's quick thinking. The 'kid saves the day' theme is a sure hit. As with any Jan Brett book, the illustrations are absolutely scrumptious, and may be used to expand the story line.
