Childhood is such a magical time, filled with unrivaled imagination and hopefulness. In "Dandelion Wish" , Ms Horn captures this magic in a sun-drenched field of dandelions.
Jo and Sam lazily blow the white puffy seeds . Sam invites his friend to blow all the seeds with one breath in order to get a wish. When they succeed, and with a little help from the summer breeze, clear all the seeds in the field, something amazing happens. A carnival of dreams and secret wishes parades down the road and sets up residence in the dandelion field. The two friends spend and enchanted afternoon with circus animals and performers. Only when evening falls and their families carry the tired children back home does the excitement ebb.
If you ever believed that wishes can come true, or saw the magic of a night sky lit with fireworks, this is a lovely book to share with your youngster. The illustrations are soft and wondrous, a perfect accompaniment to such and enchanted story.
