TEA TRAVELS(TM)... THE GIFT OF GIVING

By Ellen Easton & Reva PaulRED WAGON PRESS C. 2003 All Rights Reserved

How lucky we are to be able to celebrate the holiday season with such bounty and fun. But, let us not forget the true meaning of Thanksgiving and Christmas and remember to share our good fortune with those who would appreciate a kindness. A true charitable kindness is offered by giving anonymously with no strings attached.

There are many ways one can share their love of afternoon tea during the holidays with those in need. Either alone or with your friends contact your local food banks, senior centers, homeless centers or houses of worship and offer to create a holiday tea for those in need. Donate a gift basket of homemade scones and preserves to a worthy cause. Hold a fund raiser in your own home. Invite your friends to an afternoon tea holiday party. In lieu of gifts ask that a donation be made to a designated cause such as granting a wish to a seriously ill child. Sponsor an event or arrange an activity, whether it be for one person or a group. Include someone you know who might otherwise be alone during the holidays.

However you decide to participate, know that you will be putting a smile on someone else's face.

Wishing you happy holidays and a healthy and safe New Year!

Wishing you Happy TEA TRAVELS(TM)! Ellen Easton
