A Tribute to My Mother: Maxine Rutledge from Shirley Rosser
![]() Because I didn't grow up knowing you, the last 20 years or so didn't seem like enough time. I'm grateful for those years, but I wanted more, and when I found out you died, part of the little girl in me died too. But, everytime I look at the clouds, I see you, and know you are there. Everytime I hear George Strait, I know you are smiling and clapping your hands, and evertime I look at the grandkids you loved so much, I know you are a part of them too. The only consolation is knowing you are with Pete, the man you loved, and are probably playing cards right now!
Love, your daughter,
