I Love A Rose
Every mother's day is filled with unexpected
challenges. Sometimes these challenges are
thorns in mom's day. A little girl loses her
favorite dollie. Big brother takes a nasty spill
with his shiny red two-wheeler. The washing
machine springs a major leak. Now soapy
water is all over the floor. Not to be outdone,
the toilet is overflowing. Suddenly mom feels
like life is full of thorns.Then the mailman brings an unexpected note from a friend far away. What a joy it is to receive it. A child reaches out with an extra special hug. Sweetness fills the room and the sun shines a bit brighter. Suddenly, life is overflowing with roses. Now the secret is out. My favorite flower represents both the thorny and the sweet sides of life. Harvesting and Using Summer Squash
Summer squash is one of my favorite vegetables. I love the yellow summer squash in particular. They should be harvested while still tender, when they have a "glossy" appearance and are still small. You will most likely need to harvest daily once they start to appear.
