When I finished paging through Girlfriends Forever, a very cozy book that warmly reaches out to women, I noticed on the back jacket pocket, that Susan Branch has a whole plethora of books out; I'd like to read them all! Her writing style and the overall look of this book leaves you feeling like you just sat around in your favorite old sweater and jeans and took a trip down memory lane with an old friend over a plate of nachos. It's light-hearted and fun to browse. It even has a pretty yellow ribbon to mark your favorite spot.

You will see photos of friends, loads of friends, and you'll be reminded of those life-moments that can't be replaced. But more importantly than the photos are the pages, which all appear to be hand-written and offer oodles of special ways to nurture your spirit, get relief from stress, find moments of happiness, throw little parties for friends, and a myriad of other thought-provoking sentiments on home-making, being creative, and raising a family. And wait till you see the recipe section! I love the ice bowl with flowers frozen into it.

Girlfriends Forever is the kind of book a sentimental woman wants in her bookcase, to be pulled out and enjoyed over and over again. Thumbing through it will inspire you to write to an old friend or make a batch of strawberry preserves.
