Old Fashioned Living Newsletters

Old Fashioned Living offers a few different types of newsletters. There are two that anyone can subscribe to and one (coming soon) that is sent specifically to Parlor members.

DAILY - Old Fashioned Tips
This newsletter used to be sent via text only. However, there were too many problems with email delivery and many people weren't receiving it, so the format was changed to a blog. What does this mean? it simply means that you a) must subscribe again if you haven't already, and b) you will receive a daily email that is in full color html format. You can also view the daily tips in an RSS reader if you prefer, I personally prefer email delivery ;-) You can also subscribe via the Old Fashioned Living website on any page, look for the subscribe for on the left hand side.

MONTHLY - Old Fashioned Living News
This newsletter will keep you up to date on new articles, crafts, recipes and features added to the Old Fashioned Living website. Also featured will be existing or archived articles, crafts, etc that are seasonal or holiday related. Once a month (it may change to weekly, but for now it will be once per month) you will receive an html email similar to the daily tips above, but the blog that houses the newsletter is in a different location. Therefore, that requires separate subscription if you would like to receive it. You can subscribe by visiting the blog link below or by filling out the subscribe form on any page within the Old Fashioned Living website, just like for the daily tips newsletter.

WEEKLY - Parlor News
This newsletter will be sent in text only format. Within this weekly newsletter you will see links to recent conversations, questions and features at The Parlor. We may also include links to archived threads that have great content! That's a great way to let newbies know how much great stuff they will find here. There may also be a daily old fashioned recipe, various different tips, member of the month, etc, etc. The content in this particular newsletter will be mainly focused around the Parlor, though there may be a few links to other areas of the OFL website that are seasonal or timely. This newsletter will be sent to all registered members of the Parlor. If you prefer NOT to receive this newsletter, you can either let me know or you can go into your User CP and uncheck "receive email from admins".

I hope this explains the different emails that are available from OFL. If you have ANY questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

A Site to Share Writing

Hello Amanda,

Some parlor friends replied to me about sharing some writing, but I didn't want to do it if it's not in the rules to freely do so. If there is an area of where to go to do this just let me know.

If i want to reply to somone individually, do I just click on their name when they post a thread? i just getting use to what I can do on the site and so far it's been great!

Let me know when you can, I love the smilies!!!!!!!!!!!

Fruit is Healthy

Fruit is just as healthy as dark chocolate. What's even a greater delicacy is dipping fruit in dark chocolate.

I simply love fruit just the way it is too. It's nice to know what to add to the natural heart of healthy foods. It's called putting the icing on the cake or the decorations to enhance the food

I would like to revive this thread as we never did start producing the Parlor newsletter which would alert registered forum members of threads and conversations taking place here at the parlor. The other two newsletters mentioned at the beginning of the thread are already in place.

I would like to get this newsletter going, which would mean if you would like to receive messages from the Parlor on a weekly basis, you need to make sure that the email address that you have tied to your registered message board account is accurate. To check this, click on the User CP (user control panel) then click "Edit your details" at the top left. There you can edit your email address if need be. If you do change it, you will need to check your email for a confirmation message that will most likely require you to click a confirmation link. This is for your protection and ensures that it was you that requested the change.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the Parlor newsletter. Let's open this conversation up again

I'm really enjoying getting the Old Fashioned Living newsletters, it keeps me informed on what everyone is talking about if I don't get chance to visit the site, I still know what is happening and can reply
