Benign Essential Tremor

A checkup sent me to a neurologist.
My diagnosis is bet, benign essential tremor.
Is anyone here familiar with this condition?

I don't know that much about it but from what I do know, it is a trembling or shaking of the hands, head, ect. but It is not Parkinsons.

When I worked in a nursing home there was patients with it. When you see older folks whose hands shake all the time or their head shakes all the time, that is probably what they have.

I turn 63 on Monday,,,not ready for the nursing home yet.

I had a MRI and a MRA this week.
Don't know the results.
Will be having a sleep study next week.

Hope to get to the bottom of this.
My brother recently died,,,he had a stroke 4 years ago.
An anyuersum exploded at the end.

p.s. love the Jefferson quote,,,

Dh tells me he was in the mood for Christmas shopping the other day.
But he doesn't remember when... or exactly... or which day that was. Lol!

Oh My! I'm not ready for nursing home yet either lol!
I hope you find some answers through the tests. Waiting is the worst part I think!

My family has aneurysms and heart attacks as our downfall. Pretty much all that have passed has been one or the other.

I'm pretty sure this is what my DH has but he won't go see about it. I'll be interested to see what the treatment is.

Bearwoman, the disorder is a neurological one. I'm not certain which nerve is affected, but I believe that it has to do with some of the neurochemical electrical activity which goes on inside our heads at lightning speed. It probably has to do with psycho-motor control and/or loss of fine motor control.

Again, I'm no authority, so please check out such problems from one who IS qualified to make such diagnoses.
