    Marshmallow Easter eggs?

In New Zealand marshmallow Easter eggs are a long-time favourite. They are chocolate coated and sometimes have a yellow yolk. Some are foil-wrapped, some are unwrapped. Hollow chocolate eggs and eggs with a cream filling (e.g.caramel) are also available, but the marshmallow ones are the most popular and original. They are absolutely scrumptious!
I have just read that New Zealand is the only country to have marshmallow Easter eggs! Is that true?
Apparently ex-patriots send or take packets & packets overseas as they miss the old favourite marshmallow eggs so much!
I am amazed as I always thought they were the type of Easter eggs that EVERYONE in the world ate!

I always buy my son Cadbury Creme Eggs. They are chocolate shells with a white & yellow "yolk" creme center. They are wrapped in a red, yellow, green, & blue "foil" wrapping. They are a tradition with us.
We also can buy, but I usually don't as my son doesn't care for them is marshmellow peeps -- which are marshmellow chicks covered in a yellow, sugar "fuzz". They are standard 6 to a package, I think.
We also like spice jelly beans and malted egg candy.

I'm not a big fan of marshmallow peeps but my MIL and DSD's are addicted to them. My absolute favorites are the Whopper easter eggs but I refused to buy any this year because of my diet. I did however buy some Starburst jelly beans and have been nibbling at them.

Gretel, I'm trying to figure out exactly what kind of marshmallow eggs that you're talking about. Are they marshmallow eggs covered in chocolate and the marshmallow is the yolk in the center? As Rush' Lady said, we have the chocolate eggs with the creme "yolk" centers or the marshmallow chicks covered with a colored sugar.

lots of marshmallow things here as well, in the shape of eggs, bunnies and chicks, mostly always choc covered tho, not like peeps.. snowballs are year round tho! for a country that doesn't see much snow, snowballs are a big favourite it seems, a roundish blob of marshmallow, covered in chocolate and rolled in coconut, white, dark and milk choc varieties.. cadbury creme eggs are a long time favourite also.. along with cadbury's caramello eggs, chocolate eggs (a fudgy choc filling) and Dream eggs (white choc with a creamy white filling) and lets not forget Darrel Lea eggs, that match the christmas 'puddings' for that other festive season, they are filled with a soft nougat coloured yellow in the middle for a 'yolk' - my favourite still remains Lindt Lindnor balls in the shape of an egg..
so much chocolate, so little time..
