Who Will You See In Heaven??

Do you think pets (or animals) go to heaven?? Although my Catholic training tells me "no", I hate to think Bosley won't be in heaven someday. He's such a good boy!!

Gayla although my Catholic up bringing tells me the same I think all good living things go to heaven. Why should animals be any different than humans?

I'm catholic too but I definitely think animals go to heaven. Hey, often times they are a lot nicer than some of the human species.

    Oh I believe they do!

I have something on this somewhere I will try to find it and post it here. I have no idea where it is so I will have to hunt for it.

It was something I read in Billy Graham (I think) I cut it out to save it because I feel the same as you do.

I'm Catholic too, but I must have dropped off to sleep the day they taught us that animals don't go to heaven! LOL
I've never thought about this, but I 'll be mighty cross if I get there and find that my old dog who died a few years ago is not there already!!
I wonder what other religions teach?

4 years ago I had to have my beloved kitty put to sleep. My vet, of 30 some years now, and I were talking in those horrible few minutes right after the shot is given. Well, actually, he was talking and I was crying. He said he firmly believed that animals go to heaven. He said for me to always imagine that my kitty was playing in heaven and how happy she would be. I had always been taught that animals don't have souls, so I didn't know if he was trying to make me feel better or if it is possible. And if animals don't have an afterlife, and humans are just a higher form of animal, where's the cutoff between what animal form has an afterlife and what ddoesn't?

I'm a firm believer that all animals go to Heaven. I am of Lutheran faith and I remember our Reverend (who has since retired) also agreed that all living things go to Heaven. Besides that, what about good old "Saint Francis of Assissi".Here where I live there is an animal shelter that you can take your animals to and have them blessed (not just cats and dogs---ALL animals) and they give them all a Saint Francis of Assissi medal to wear on their collars or if the animal is too small to wear a collar to put on their cage.

I was raised as catholic, converted to Lutheran when I married my husband and am now at peace finally being a gnostic christian. I love Sylvia Brown and her teachings . I am a firm believer that our pets do go to the other side. Sylvia says that our friends and family have to fight to get to us once we cross over because our pets are always there first for us,just as happy as can be to see us once again.

It wouldn't be Heaven at all for me without my loved ones, both humans and animals, so yes, I truly believe they will all be waiting there for me.

I have been raised in a baptist church, and I firmly believe our pets will be in Heaven. God promises that Heaven will be full of the things we love, and if our pets are one of the things we cherish, then why wouldnt He put them there? What kind of Heaven would it be if everything we cherished on earth werent with us? Just my point of view. I might be in the minority , but thats OK with me! ;o)

That is a beautiful thought, Baileysmom, I do hope that's how it is.

I remember that Sister Whats Her Name was adament about no animals in heaven in Catechism class when I was in 3rd grade. But what did she know....she'd never been there..

    Unhappy

I sure will be sad if no animals are in heaven. I have taught my kids that they are. Ages 21 to 11 believe that their grandfather is playing with Fred, his best friend (dog), right now!! I think he is too! I also think that my grandfather is with Jim and Joe, his coon dogs, right now.
I have not heard this brought up at church. Hmmm, wonder how the others feel about it. We are in want of nothing in heaven, right? Then we shouldn't want our pets, because they are there with us, right?

Sure they go to Heaven. All you have to do is look into their eyes to know there’s a soul in there. I think Heaven is our real “Home.” If we have pets with us here, why not at Home as well? There are animals who have been known to save lives! They’re furry guardian angels capable of unconditional love; something the human race has not quite mastered yet. So yes, I do believe animals go to Heaven.

In fact, I think my grandmother is taking care of them right now. She’ s always said that her job when she passed would be taking care of animals. My uncle had a dream about her doing this once. (He didn’t even know about this desire of hers when he dreamt that). That was akin to actual proof to me! In his dream, she was actually making little wooden beds for dogs; carving my dog's name on a bed. My uncle said the little beds she made reminded him of the 7 Dwarfs! By the time she finished carving out my dog's name, my doggie pounced on the bed just like she was a puppy again. He said she was smiling and wagging her tail. (My dog really did smile in life). ;)

I'm pagan and most of us beleive that animals go to the same type of afterlife we do- including reincarnating. Animals have souls too after all.

And if I get my choice when I reincarnate- I want to be a ferret in a loving home- that is the life

I agree, our pets go to heaven. After all, they are like angels here on earth.

    Talking

I thought I lost this artical but I just found it.

It was by Billy Graham in our newspaper.

Some one write and ask Mr. Graham this question is response was the following (but I left some out to long to write)

"God will provide us with everything we need to make us happy and if animals are necassary to make us happy there then you can be confinent He will arrange for the pets to be there with us.
Then he mentioned Isaiah saw God's kingdom as a place of absolute peace. Isaiah 11:6 "

(I just pray that I make it there. 'cos most of you seem so very much more "holy and good" than I am! )
wanders off muttering "I MUST try harder, I MUST do better, I MUST be nicer, I must stop baiting the aussies....." LOL
