    Essiac herbs

Has anyone ever heard of the Essiac herb. I have just started taking it and wondered if anyone else has tried it or heard of it.

I've heard of it, but I don't know much about it... the only thing I've heard it used for is cancer!

I've read a little about Essiac herbs. It originates from a native american tribe and can be taken as a herbal supplement or in tea form. It is named after a Candian nurse (Rene Caisse - her surname backwards) who spent her life treating cancer patients.

Essiac herbs are used to compliment cancer care and it is believed to assist the body in fighting cancer as well as reduce the side effects of chemo and radiation thereapy. There are 4 herbs that make up the essiac herbs - you can find out more about each of these at:

From what I understand it is good for all kinds of things. My sisters, all three have cancer of different kinds. They are taking it and it seems to be helping. I have decided to start taking it, trying to combat cancer. It is suspose to combat all kind of toxins in your body. I sure hope so, for it taste terrible. ha!
My sisters are really into herbs, I am kind of suspect of them and not really knowledgable about them. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about essiac. I had not heard of it till about 6months ago.

Very interesting thread! I went and looked at the pages behind the link. I'm wondering if my MIL has heard about these. Her sister has had two brushes with breast cancer. She herself is diabetic and she has had a couple of biopsies that have turned out negative so far. I'm going to pass the link on to her. Thanks!

I was at a scrapbook party the other nite and a lady there said her husband had been taking Essiac for years. He had prostate cancer and had started on it and his count had been low ever since. A small world we live in,huh?
Until six months ago I had never heard of it. Now I am finding out that a lots of people are using it. I sure hope it helps, and is not a scam! People seem to think so, including my sisters.
