...to DS's wedding in May?? It's an evening garden formal wedding with a dinner dance reception inside. The mother of the bride is wearing a seafoam green floor length 2 piece gown. The wedding colors are black, white and red. The bride said she didn't care at all what I wore even though traditional courtesy dictates that I let the mother of the bride select her gown and I coordinate to her. The problem is that I look terrible in pastels. I can wear bright colors or black. I discussed it with the bride and she said it would be fine with her if I wore a black gown, since all the tuxes, and bridesmaid gowns will be black. Also, if I wear a bright color it will stand out more than the mother of the bride, and I don't want to upstage her. Online, I have found a black pantsuit that I think would look good on me. It's wide leg pants, with a crepe shell, and a black beaded jacket with sleeves that come to the middle of my forearm (good for jewelry, and good to hide my upper arms). I looked at my local department store and found name brands of quality dresses, then tried to find others of the same brand online. The stores where I looked didn't have anything at all that would be suitable.
Does anybody have any suggestions on where to look of what color to wear????
